BarterWorX, a barter company, also known as a trade exchange, based out of Rockland, owned by Marilyn and Rick Johnson, has teamed up this month with Golfers Crossing, to host a social mixer and fundraising event.
This third event is for the benefit of the Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue League. BarterWorX and its members are inviting local business people to attend the Mixer/Fundraiser, on Tuesday, June 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. at 7 Country Way, (Route 1) right on the Camden/Rockport line behind Blue Sky Cantina.
“This is a great opportunity to help out a great cause and learn about other local businesses all at the same time” said Marilyn Johnson, president of BarterWorX. At the Golfer’s Crossing event, participants are invited to play mini golf, network, socialize, and enjoy appetizers, beer and wine while also providing much-needed items for the homeless animals from CRARL. There is no charge for this event but attendees are asked to bring a donation for CRARL.
A suggested list of most-needed items are paper towels, laundry detergent, dog treats, dried cat food, clay kitty litter. For a more detailed list, visit crarl.org.
BarterWorX wants to also remind the public that June is Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month and for the entire month of June CRARL is celebrating by reducing the adoption fee on all cats 5-months-old and older to only $25.
“We are looking for locations for future events,” said Marilyn Johnson. Beneficiaries of the upcoming events are to be determined. Suggestions are always welcome. In addition to supporting local charities, these events are intended to bring together existing members of BarterWorX, as well as local business people who may be interested in learning more about BarterWorX, its members and how it works.
To make a donation, contact Marilyn Johnson at 542-1665, email at barterworx@gmail.com or Wendy Crossman, owner of Golfer’s Crossing at 230-0090.
