Canoeists and kayakers are invited to join other adventurers for an easy paddle up the Medomak River on Saturday, June 25.

The trip, hosted by the Medomak Valley Land Trust, will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants will depart from the picnic area across from Hannaford’s on Route 32 south in Waldoboro, and will head up the Medomak from there. Canoeists and kayakers will paddle north along a scenic stretch of the river where they may encounter beavers, birds, and an abundance of other wildlife.

Participants should provide their own canoe or kayak and life preserver, pack water and a picnic lunch if desired, and be prepared to enjoy this peaceful, undeveloped section of the river.

For more information about the paddle, conservation options, or MVLT’s services to landowners, please contact the land trust’s Waldoboro office at 832-5570. Visit the website at medomakvalley.org.
