Arthur Crockett, town custodian for the past 21 years, is retiring at the end of June.

In his time with the town, Crockett has been an on-call firefighter, ambulance driver and custodian for public safety, town office and Opera House facilities. His good cheer, dependability and skillful work keeping the buildings maintained and clean over many years of service will be feted at a farewell party for him on Wednesday, June 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. The party will be held on the third floor of the Opera House.

Refreshments, roasts, and surprises will be served.

The entire community is invited to send Crockett off to a well-deserved retirement after 20-plus years of waking up at 3 a.m. to go to work every day.
