Dorothy Merrifield

Dorothy Emma Merrifield, 90, died June 15, 2011, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport.

She was the wife of Percy Leroy Merrifield Sr. of 60 years.

She was born Sept. 29, 1920, in Portland, the daughter of Quincy and Ora Belle Young.

Dorothy was a longtime resident of Thomaston and enjoyed being with her family.

She is survived by a daughter, Judith Brann of Cushing; a son, Gary Merrifield of Thomaston; a sister, Arlene Williams of Trotwood, Ohio; eight grandchildren, David, Heidi, Corey, Jamie, Jason, Rebecca, Percy III and Michael; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside committal service to honor Dorothy will be held Monday, June 27 at 2 p.m. at the Union Common Cemetery.
