New Era Gallery will open its Early Summer 2011 show Saturday, June 25. The show will feature handfelted work by Alison Angel; sculpture and prints by Janet Gohres; prints and printed linen by Lynn Krauss; and paintings by Suzette Jones. The Main Street gallery will host an opening reception from 4 to 7 p.m.

Fiber artist Angel’s love of the decorative arts informs her felted wool jewelry and vessel designs, while Gohres brings her deep appreciation of the natural world to her botanical etchings and stoneware sculpture. Krauss’ woodblock prints and printed linen reflect her love of color, pattern and graphic design; and Jones’ lifelong interest in birds is reflected in her paintings of native birds in island landscapes.

As part of New Era’s ongoing celebration of its tenth year, it also will host an installation of painted screens by Jackson Gregory in the Windy Way Barn adjacent to the main gallery.  Gregory’s standing screens are painted in complex abstract patterns and subtle color relationships.

The show will run through July 13. Early summer gallery hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 863-9351 or visit neweragallery.com.
