An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Maine State Police responded to the following calls in the Midcoast from June 5 through June 11.

June 5

Trooper Scott Quintero made contact with James Wallace, 51, on North Union Road in Union. Located around the home, police said, were approximately 15 different growing marijuana plants. While speaking with Wallace, an additional bag of processed marijuana was reportedly located on his person. Wallace was summoned for cultivating marijuana and possession of a usable amount of marijuana, according to state police.

June 6

Trooper Quintero performed a bail check of Dennis Davis, 39, at the home he was living at in Thomaston. Davis was arrested and charged with violating his conditions of release, according to state police.

Trooper Quintero charged John Schroeder, 58, of Rockport at the Knox County Jail with operating under the influence of alcohol, according to state police.

Trooper Patrick Hood investigated a harassment complaint in Union. No charges were filed.

June 7

Trooper Quintero was traveling south on Route 131 in Thomaston when a vehicle operated by William Burke, 72, of Thomaston pulled in front of him attempting to pull into a driveway. Burke was charged with operating under the influence, according to state police.

Trooper Quintero responded to a personal injury accident on Pound Hill Road in Union. John Mountainland, 50, of Union was attempting to pull out of his driveway when a dirt bike driven by a 14 year old of Union came down the road at an excessive rate of speed. The juvenile was unable to stop and laid his motorcycle down in the roadway. The vehicles collided and the juvenile suffered minor injuries. The juvenile was summoned for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating without a license and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

June 11

Trooper Adam McNaughton responded to Searsmont Road in Appleton for a report of the theft of an antique chest. The investigation is ongoing.
