The public is cordially invited to a concert featuring pianist Sybil Clement Wentworth and her brother guitarist Phil Clement Sunday, June 26 at 4 p.m. at the United Christian Church, 18 Searsmont Road/Route 173 in Lincolnville Center.

The concert marks the premiere performance of music from the duet’s new CD, “Mom and Dad’s Favorite Hymns, Volume 2.” The hour-long program will include both church and popular music and a sing-along.

Wentworth and Clement are two of five children of Carl and Francis Clement of Camden. They grew up in a household where scripture was the basis of family life and everyday chores were accompanied by old-time hymns. They participated in many local musical events as they grew up and still are very much part of their community’s musical heritage.

Wentworth is a music teacher at the Warren Community School and the music director at the Union Methodist Church. Clement is a professional musician and songwriter well known for his versatility in playing everything from folk and jazz to gospel and blues. Their new CD will be available for purchase.

There is no admission for the concert but donations will be greatly appreciated for the church’s newly formed Scholarship Fund, which will provide financial assistance for educational materials for a church member and a Lincolnville resident of any age who is pursuing further educational or vocational goals.

For more information or to contribute to the Scholarship Fund, contact committee chairman Michael Sloan via the church at 763-4526.
