The Central Lincoln County YMCA gymnastics team will host its first exhibition, featuring the team members who competed and won the 2011 state sportsmanship award and state championships. In addition, the Jets pre-CLC team will be on hand to show off their special routines.

The exhibition will be held at Tuesday, June 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the CLC YMCA in Damariscotta.

Along with newly created custom floor routines and fun music, the youngsters will showcase their talents and skills by impressing all with their high-flying acts on the uneven bars and risk it all on the four-inch-wide balance beam and will top the performance off with a high energy and fast-paced finale of tumbling, including flips, twist and handsprings.

Gymnasts ages 4 to 15 will show their many tumbling skills, dance moves and tricks on the uneven bars, beam and vault. A special treat will be the return of former teammate, state and New England regional champion and University of Maine student Kiley Bickford.

The team will be selling treats, including heartier fare since this will be held at the dinner hour. The public is invited to stay for an open house to meet the winning gymnasts who competed in state and New England regionals and to learn more about gymnastic programs offered through the CLC YMCA.

CLC YMCA coaches Janice Cormier Hay and Betsy Lee guided the winning gymnasts through a successful 2011 season and are anticipating one of the largest teams in CLC’s history for the 2012 season.
