Voters in the five district towns of School Administrative District 40 voted June 14 to approve the $21,489,112 budget that was endorsed at the June 7 district budget meeting.
The vote to approve the budget was 849 to 673.
There were three questions for the towns:
1) On whether to approve the $21.4 million school district budget:
Friendship: 40 yes, 24 no
Union: 276 yes, 152 no
Waldoboro: 439 yes, 435 no
Warren: 46 yes, 47 no
Washington: 48 yes, 15 no
2) On whether to establish a $75,000 fuel stabilization fund — Yes
Friendship: 40 yes, 23 no
Union: 269 yes, 158 no
Waldoboro: 486 yes, 375 no
Warren: 53 yes, 40 no
Washington: 45 yes, 19 no
3) On whether to authorize the issuance of bonds and/or lease purchase two additional school buses — Yes
Friendship: 37 yes, 27 no
Union: 257 yes, 184 no
Waldoboro: 438 yes, 430 no
Warren: 51 yes, 42 no
Washington: 49 yes, 15 no
