On June 5, The First Congregational Church members and friends enjoyed their after service coffee hour and fellowship outdoors and indoors at the Heavenly Threads Thrift Shop’s second annual Open House.

The shop has been an outreach program of the church since 1995. Thousands of dollars have been invested in the community from the sales proceeds which are a result from wonderful donations from church members and from the surrounding communities. Some of the recipients of those funds are Habitat for Humanity, New Hope for Women, Coastal Hospice, Rockland Soup Kitchen, Meals on Wheels, Kno-Wal-Lin, Salvation Army, Knox County Health Clinic, Coastal Workshop and others.

Heavenly Threads is housed in what used to be the church manse right next door to the church in Camden on Elm Street. The shop is proud to have 35 friendly and knowledgeable church and community volunteers who help keep the shop running. To volunteer or to find out more about the mission, call 236-3203.
