The Thomaston Recreation Department has begun registration for its summer sports clinics for boys and girls entering grades three through 12.

The clinics, open to Thomaston residents and non-residents, have a preregistration deadline of Friday, June 24. It is recommended to preregister, which guarantees a spot, however, young athletes also can register the first days of the clinics. Grades offered vary from clinic to clinic.

Clinics offered include girls basketball (Monday through Friday, July 25-29 for grades 3-8 from 9 a.m. to noon), boys basketball (Monday through Friday, July 25-29 for grades 3-8, grades 3-4 from 1 to 3 p.m. and grades 5-8 from 3 to 5:30 p.m.), boys and girls soccer (Monday through Friday, July 18-22 for grades 3-12 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.), softball (Monday through Thursday, Aug. 1-4 for grades 4-8) and baseball (Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 8-9 for grades 3-6 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 10-11 for grades 7-12 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.).

A one-time fee of $30 for Thomaston residents gives a camper access to all camps, with the exception of soccer, which is a one-time fee of $50, which also will give a camper access to all camps. Non-residents will be charged $30 for each camp individually with the exception of soccer, which is a $50 fee.

To preregister, call Matt Judkins, Thomaston recreation director, at 354-6107, or email thomastonrec@gmail.com.
