Stephen Markley will present his book “Publish this Book: The Unbelievable True Story of How I Wrote, Sold, and Published this Very Book” Thursday, June 16 at 7 p.m. at the Jackson Memorial Library, 38 Main St./Route 131.

Markley lives in Chicago where he writes for the Tribune Company’s RedEye and Cars.com’s editorial blog “KickingTires.” His articles have appeared in Weber: A Journal of the Contemporary West, The Populist Progressive and RadarOnline. His fiction has appeared in Midnight Times, 10,000 Tons of Black Ink and The Chicago Reader.

“Publish This Book” is a high-concept memoir of trying to publish a book about publishing that very book. This book is many things, a hilarious, crass, fearless, moving, cautionary and ultimately hopeful story of becoming an author. It is about writing and love, friendship and politics — about a time and a place in one’s life.
