Pearse 40th anniversary

Basil and Arlinda Pearse of Searsmont hosted a potluck/cookout on May 22 for 60-plus family and friends to help them celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. People attended from as far away as Richmond and Eddington.

Their daughter Lori made a beautiful heart-shaped cake decorated with fresh raspberries and blackberries.

Basil and Arlinda were married May 29, 1971 in Searsmont at the Methodist church. Basil is the son of the late Basil Pearse Sr. and Jennie Pearse Clark. Arlinda is the daughter of the late Kenneth Sherman and Charlene Sherman of Liberty.

They have three daughters, Diane of Osborn, Lori of Searsmont and Rebecca of Camden and four grandchildren.
