Camden First Aid was called to the top of Bald Rock Mountain in Lincolnville on June 7 to assist a woman who could not make her way down the mountain due to a hip problem.

Bald Rock Mountain is located in Camden Hills State Park and is 1,200 feet in elevation, one of the highest in the park. From the trail head on Youngtown Road, the trail is 1.25 miles to the peak.

Crews from Camden First Aid Association, Camden First Aid Access Team and Lincolnville Fire Department responded to the call, which came in during the afternoon. Lincolnville fire used its six-wheel ranger, “Woody,” to get the rescue equipment and some rescuers to the top of the mountain.

Emergency workers then secured the woman and carried her down the mountain in a litter.

She was taken by ambulance to Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
