The Waldoboro Woman’s Club will hold its annual Whale of a Sale on Saturday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the VFW Hall on Mill Street in Waldoboro.

The event raises monies for scholarships to local high school seniors and for continuing education as well as for donations to different organizations within the area.

Featured at the Whale of a Sale will be attic treasures, a silent auction, a craft table, a boutique, and a Maine-made basket with local items to be raffled. This year, along with the usual hardbacks and paperbacks, the book table will include a great collection of books from an estate in Friendship.

Also a bake table will include fruit pies, brown bread, fudge, cakes, baked beans, cookies, cupcakes, quick breads, jams and jellies, brownies, canned vegetables and pickles, and sugar-free products.

Coffee and doughnuts will be available beginning at 9 a.m. with a delicious luncheon to follow at 11 a.m. A hanging flower basket donated by Barley Joe’s Greenhouses will be raffled at the plant table. The plant table will also include herbs, annuals, perennials and vegetable plants.

To donate any of the above items, call 832-4301. For more information, call 273-3082.
