The Thomaston 4th of July Committee seeks volunteers to help with Thomaston’s celebration. The committee will need about 40 people to help with the many activities and tasks.
Committee members invites people to join in helping the community make this event happen and carry on the spirit of sharing. Volunteers may sign up to assist in many ways – from decorating the business block, parade staging and monitoring, parade banner carriers, flag sellers, committee booth and ticket sales, staffing children’s games, face painting, donation collectors at fireworks gates, clean-up detail/grounds maintenance, to booth break-down. The committee encourages commitments for shifts of two hours (or more if desired). Call Julie Russo, committee chair, at 354-8763, or email julie@brookstrapmill.com, or visit the website at thomastonmaine4thofjuly.com
Committee chair Julie Russo said that volunteering for such community events is an opportunity to meet new people, participate in making an enjoyable experience for the community, work as a team, and simply have good fun enjoying the company of others.
