With summer weather finally upon us, golf is heating up throughout the Midcoast as Goose River Golf Club held a few events in recent days.

On May 31 in Tuesday Twilight League scramble play, there was a three-way tie for first place, with each team shooting a combined 5-under par. The teams of The Lost Balls (Pat Parent, Joe Zak, Bo Marshall, Kelley Macomber, John Grose and Steve Powell), The Soft Spikes (Andrew Dailey, Ewie Greet, Armand Lesmerises, Jim Lombardo, Sandy Ellsworth and Ron Buday) and The Slicers (Brian Wickenden, Dean Hill, Marshall Haynes, Roger Wickenden, Doug Maple and Skip Pound) all split first-place honors. The pin winner was Jamie Bouton, 32-feet on the ninth hole.

On May 29 in sweeps, Daulton Wickenden (74) finished first gross and Parent (81) second gross. In net, Peter Lynch (69) finished first and Roger Wickenden (77) second. Lynch also had a pin of 14-3 on the ninth hole.

The same day in skins, Jon Wickenden finished with a five on the first hole, Roger Wickenden, two on the 15th; Lynch, two on the ninth; and Daulton Wickenden, three on the third, three on the seventh, three on the 13th and four on the 14th.
