On May 27, local eighth-graders from four schools in the five town area, who will converge as the freshman class at Camden Hills Regional High School in the fall gathered for a day of team building at Camden Hills State Park.
Each year, the event is organized to give the eighth-graders a chance to get to know each other before the start of the year.
The students worked in their new “homeroom” groups which are a mixture of students from all the schools.
After the team building games and hikes, the group gathered for a cookout provided by the parents. The National Guard Drug Reduction Team provided the games and facilitated with the teachers, providing their services free of charge.
