Two cars were damaged in a Friday afternoon, June 3 crash on Route 1.
There were no serious injuries from the crash that occurred shortly before 2 p.m. in front of Maritime Farms near the Thomaston town line.
A 2009 four-door Chevrolet driven by Stephen R. Cross Jr., 22, of South Thomaston was pulling out of the convenience store parking lot. The driver reported not seeing a 2004 Toyota pickup truck driven by Robert L. Packard, 68, of South Woodstock, Conn., heading toward Thomaston on Route 1.
Packard was unable to stop in time.
Damage to Cross’ vehicle was estimated at $7,000. Damage to Packard’s truck was estimated at $3,000.
Both drivers and a 16-year-old passenger in Cross’ vehicle were wearing seat belts.
