An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Maine State Police responded to the following calls in the Midcoast from May 21 through May 30.

May 21

Trooper Scott Quintero stopped Jenna Walsh, 26, on Route 73 in Rockland. Walsh was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of scheduled drugs, violating conditions of release and criminal operating after suspension, according to state police.

Trooper Quintero responded to a report of criminal mischief in Warren. The investigation is ongoing.

May 22

Trooper Shawn Porter stopped Andrew Monroe, 26, for a seat belt violation and an expired inspection sticker on Western Road in Warren. Monroe’s license was suspended and he was summoned for operating after suspension and for the seat belt violation. Monroe was released to a valid driver.

May 24

Trooper Quintero responded to Loon Lane in Hope for the report of an unattended death.

May 25

Trooper Mark Barney responded to a domestic on Forest Lake Road in Friendship. Cassie Young, 29, was arrested for domestic violence assault and transported to Knox County Jail, according to state police.

Trooper Quintero stopped a vehicle driven by Barbara Chapman, 54, of West Rockport for a loud exhaust. Chapman was arrested and transported to Knox County Jail where she was charged with criminal operating after suspension, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, sale and use of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a usable amount of marijuana along with a traffic citation, according to state police.

May 26

Trooper Quintero stopped a vehicle on Route 1 in Thomaston for a vehicle defect. The operator was identified as John Markham, 63, of Massachusetts. Markham was arrested for operating under the influence and was transported to Knox County Jail, according to state police.

Trooper Quintero responded to River Road in Cushing for the report of a vehicle off the road. Wesley Williams, 20, of Cushing was arrested and charged with OUI and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, according to state police.

May 27

Trooper Jeremiah Wesbrock responded to a tractor trailer crash on Route 1 in Warren. The tractor trailer was carrying heating oil and had rolled onto its side while swerving to avoid crashing into cars that had stopped for traffic. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection and crews from Maritime Energy responded to clean the site.

Trooper Bethany Couturier responded to Youngstown Road in Lincolnville for a reported theft. The investigation is ongoing.

Trooper Quintero stopped a vehicle for an inspection sticker violation. The vehicle was found to be operated by Nanci Stanley, 27, of Rockland. Stanley was arrested and charged with operating after suspension, possession of a usable amount of marijuana and displaying a fictitious inspection sticker, according to state police. Stanley was transported to Knox County Jail.

Trooper Quintero responded to Cushing Road in Cushing for the report of a domestic assault. No charges were issued.

May 28

Trooper Wesbrock responded to a threatening complaint on Landing Road in Warren. No charges were filed.
