Power has been restored to a sizable block in Camden following a two-hour outage on June 3 and Washington Street between Elm and Mechanic streets has been reopened to traffic.

Power was out at the Camden Town Office block to the corner of French and Brawn, and to the intersection of Washington Street and to Mechanic Street after a shed on a flatbed truck snagged a power line, which broke an old pole and caused the wires to droop over the street.

While a new pole will eventually be replaced at the corner of the town office, Central Maine Power crews temporarily buttressed the broken pole with lumber and restored the power for the weekend.

Several CMP trucks were at the scene restoring power.
