Rockland police, fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Talbot Avenue and Union Street at 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 29.
According to Sgt. Kenneth Smith of the Rockland Police Department, Brandy Monroe, 30, of Hope was driving a 2000 Subaru Impreza southbound in the left lane of Union Street. SimonPeter Gerhard, 46, of Frankfurt, Germany, was driving a 2011 Ford Fusion southbound on Union Street in the right lane.
Gerhard made a left turn, cutting off Monroe, Smith said. Monroe’s vehicle went onto its side. There were no injuries. Smith said all occupants were wearing seat belts.
Damage to the Fusion was estimated at $2,500. Smith said the Impreza was probably a total loss.
