Shawn Micheal Heal, 35, died May 26, 2011, at his residence.

Born in Rockport on March 2, 1976, he was the son of Caryn Ann Heal. Educated in local schools, he was a 1994 graduate of Rockland District High School.

Following high school, Shawn was employed with Shaw’s Supermarket, Corson’s Auto Parts, and Fuller Auto Mall. The past six years he worked with his uncle at Heal Enterprises Inc./Mank’s Auto Parts as the sales manager.

Shawn enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles, snowmobiling, and especially his 1996 Chevy Camaro. While in school, he also enjoyed drawing and painting.

Paramount in Shawn’s life was his commitment to his many close friends and family. He was always there when needed and was willing to do anything he could to help.

He enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Cargill Pond in Liberty and often joked that he once again had to “rescue” his mom and grandmother from Hollywood Slots in Bangor.

Predeceased by his grandfather John Heal in 1998, Shawn is survived by his mother, Caryn Ann Heal; his grandmother, Betty P. Heal, both of Rockland; his uncles and aunts, Alan J. and Pamela Heal of Rockland, John J. and Pamela Heal of Warren, Dana and Charlene Heal of Waldoboro, Steven and Renee Heal of West Rockport, and Brian D. and Lisa Heal of Rockland; his cousins, Debbie and Gary Gould, Jason and Jodie Heal, Jessica and Jeremy York, Dawn Heal and fiancé Bill Lavoie, Ivy Heal, Raquel Traniello and fiancé Matthew Bradish, Travis Heal and his fiancé Kayla Carleton, Kayla Wood, Jennifer Heal and Maci Heal; his second cousins, Pamela Lavoie and Liam Gould; his co-worker and friend, Bill Collins of Rockland; as well as his constant companion, friend and beloved dog, Brownie.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit Tuesday, May 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 1 at 2 p.m. at Rockville Cemetery on Rockland Street (Route 17) in Rockport.
