Battle of the Books results

First of all, we would like to thank all the families, staff, and students for their support in this year’s Battle of the Books. In particular, we would like to thank Mrs. McFarland, Mr. Bosk, Ms. Grindle, Mrs. Doherty, Mrs. Rose, and Ms. Vitelli for assisting us during the actual battles. Through all six grade levels (3-8), we celebrated about 80 percent participation!

At the third grade level we would like to congratulate the “The Awesome Reason to Read” team members: Hugh Costigan, Lizette Luce, McKenna Maxwell, Cody Pascal, and Colin Stewart. For the grades 4-6 competition, the winning team is the “Sonic Readers;” team members are: Alyson Glasier, Abbie Harrington, Maggie Maxwell, Nadie King, and Taylor Tremblay. At the grades 6-8 level (Remember, Grade 6 has a choice of levels in which to compete), the team who earned the top spot is the “Q.U.A.C.K.” team, whose roster includes Kabien Gardner, Morgan Ford, Quinn Kelley, Jack Moody, and Makyna Thomas. These winning teams will participate in the H.A.L. battle at Lincolnville Central School on Wednesday, May 18th, starting at 9 a.m.

Seventh-grade fundraiser

Seventh graders are still hopeful that we will complete the reading and be supported by sponsors so that we can purchase the gift of animals for families in need. READ TO FEED is an incentive with Heifer International. If you think you could sponsor us, please do not hesitate to give us a call at 785-4504! We hope to finish this effort by May 30 so that we still have time to research and choose our animal gifts.
