Robert Neil Hatch, 79, of Northport, died peacefully at his home Monday evening, May 2, 2011. He was born July 21, 1931, in Knox, son of the late Robert A. and Lulla M. (Whitcomb) Hatch.

Mr. Hatch worked 32 years at Penobscot Poultry in Belfast and when it closed he went to work for five years at McDonald’s. He loved to watch western movies and baseball. He enjoyed playing cards and working with his hands.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Jeanette on Jan. 5, 2010.

Mr. Hatch is survived by four sons, Robert Hatch of Swanville, Roy Hatch and his wife, Laura of Waldoboro, Brian Hatch and his wife, Debra of New Hampshire and Richard Hatch and his wife, Amy of Canton; daughter, Lisa Hatch of Belfast; five sisters, Mable Willy, Christine Cox, Nora Buck, Olive Harding and Roberta Hussy; as well as many grandchildren and great-grand children.

There will be a celebration of life Saturday, June 4, 2-4 p.m., at Randall & Collins VFW Post 3108, 34 Field St., Belfast.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smeltzer Family Cremation & Funeral Service in Waldoboro.
