Phylis Andriotis Rogers passed away peacefully following a bout of pneumonia on April 26, 2011. Phylis will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving sibling, endearing surrogate mother and beloved aunt. She was 90 years of age, born Nov. 26, 1920, in Tarrytown, N.Y.

Phylis graduated from White Plains High School. For 35 years, Phylis earned the respect of physicians she worked with due to her tenderness, tenacity, and strong business ethic. Phylis spent the majority of her career in an office management position held with the medical professionals of Scarsdale Medical Group.

She carried her business savvy and compassion to Maine where she served as president of the Women’s Auxiliary and co-managed a local bingo concession with her late husband and life partner of 50 years, Daniel Rogers.

Those privileged to know Phylis will remember her as a person who gave selflessly, loved deeply and embraced every opportunity to be a supportive neighbor and friend. Her generousness and tender heart will be forever etched in memory until we meet her again.

Daughter of the late Florence Monyea and Philip Andriotis, Phylis was predeceased by siblings Bessie Koban, Athena Mosher, Dorothy Oman and Peter Andriotis who were all residents of Westchester County, N.Y.

She is survived by her sister Marie Hufnagel of Arizona. Though Phylis had no children of her own, she proudly nurtured her niece, Deborah Koban as though Debbie was her own. Other nieces and nephews are Doreen Drago, Michele Gregory, Donna Gallo, John Hufnagel, James and Renee Rogers, and Carol Ann Pretzel.
