Nancy Bernice Wallace, 73, died May 7, 2011, at her home in Friendship. She was born Nov. 16, 1937, in Rockland to Sterling Proctor and Bessie Stover Proctor. She grew up in the Midcoast area and attended local schools.

She worked at G.T.E. Sylvania, Fieldcrest Manor and Dennison’s Boarding Home in Waldoboro. She loved to travel to Atlantic City to gamble. She enjoyed gardening, playing Yahtzee and even shot two moose in her late 60s. She was very helpful and was always there for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her son, Leroy Wallace Jr.

She is survived by her husband, James Harlan Wallace of Friendship; her daughters, Kim Carter and her husband, Preston, of Friendship and Debbie Simmons of Rockland; her grandchildren, Amander Wotton of Windham, Amber Wotton of Rockland and Brittany Wotton of Friendship, and her special grandson, Donny Carter of Friendship; and many stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for whom she cared deeply.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Village Cemetery in Friendship. Should friends desire, contributions may be made in Nancy’s memory to the American Heart Association, 51 US Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074; or Pen Bay Christian School, 1 Waldo Ave., Rockland, ME 04841.
