In cold, windy matches, the Georges Valley tennis squads suffered 4-1 losses to Lisbon Tuesday. The Buccaneer boys played in Rockland and the Buc girls at Lisbon.

In the boys match, the individual results, with Bucs listed first, were: In singles, Gordon Armstrong lost to Taylor Wreder, 1-6, 2-6; Charlie Baker lost to Evan Keating, 0-6, 0-6; and Cy McGeady lost to Zack Turner, 0-6, 3-6.

In doubles, Luke Rector and Tyler Gilson lost to Tim Dobson and Levi Dussault, 5-7, 4-6; and Wesley Bryant and Sam Crockett beat Aaron French and Roger Jama, 6-4, 6-0.

“All in all, not a great match,” said Buc coach Kathryn Armstrong. “Lisbon was tougher than we expected. Everyone played really hard and we got a lot of exhibition matches in, which was fun for everyone.”

The Bucs (2-3, 1.66670 points) are 10th in the Maine Principals’ Association Heal Point Standings for Western Class C, while Dirigo of Dixfield (4-0, 12.2917 points) is first in the 13-team region.

In the girls match, the individual results, with Bucs listed first, were: In singles, Kasie Waters lost to Sara Girald 0-8; Rosemary McGeady beat Megan Craig 8-3; and Lindsey Joyce lost to Katie McManas 4-8.

In doubles, Brianna Bodman and Makayla Garrett lost to Nikkale Gardiner and Jaymi Thibault, 2-8; and Afton Hupper and Dora Thompson lost to Jordan Forks and Chelene Cameron 1-8.

The Bucs (0-4, no points) are 11th in Western Class C, while St. Dominic of Lewiston (3-0, 10.167 points) is first in the 15-team region.
