A tow truck that rolled into a quarry could be hauled up later this week.
The truck was parked at Shorty’s Towing on Old County Road when it rolled backward and plummeted into a quarry on the business’ property. The incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. on April 22, according to Rockland police.
Doug Conway of the towing service said that no one was in the vehicle.
He said a crane is scheduled to be brought to the site, likely on Thursday, to try to remove the vehicle from the quarry.
