Kenneth J. Trout, 65, died April 27, 2011, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport, after a period of declining health.

Born in Camden on Aug. 20, 1945, he was the son of James C. and Margery L. O’Donnell Trout. Educated in Camden schools, he later earned his diploma from American Schools.

Always interested in mechanics, as a young man Ken worked with Jack Ackley, proprietor of the former Knights Garage in Camden. He also learned landscaping and small engine repair, while working with his father and grandfather Walter Shaw.

For more than 15 years he worked as a custodian with National Sea Products until the closing of that facility, and for the next eight years, with Fisher Engineering, both in Rockland. More recently he worked with Russell Fish Paving.

He enjoyed building models and doing crossword puzzles, and was an active member of Grace Bible Fellowship in Rockland.

Ken is survived by his wife, Carol E. Sturges Trout of Rockland; two sons, Kenneth J. Trout Jr. and his fiancée Barbara Van Meter, both of Rockland, and Troy W. Trout and his companion Amanda Seekins of Belfast; two sisters, Jodice Brown and her husband, Robert, of Florida and Catherine Coneita and her husband, Gary, of Tucson, Ariz.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 3 at 3 p.m. at Seaview Cemetery on Russell Avenue in Rockport.
