Ethel F. Pease, 73, died following a period of declining health April 27, 2011, at Winship Green Nursing Home in Bath.

Born in Rockland on April 29, 1935, she was the daughter of Harold and Helen Teel Bunker.  Growing up in Rockland and Matinicus Island, she was educated locally and attended Rockland schools.

For her entire life, Ethel was a homemaker. For many years she made her home in Port Clyde with her husband, Winston “Babe” Pease Sr.  Ethel spent many days sitting at her kitchen table, enjoying the view of the harbor while she picked crabmeat to help support her family.

She enjoyed gardening and bird watching and was very fond of her two dogs, April and Sammy.

She was predeceased by her husband; a son, Keith Rose; and two brothers, Albert Bunker and Osmond Bunker.

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Patricia Monroe and her companion Bradley Williams of Union; a stepson, Winston “Rudy” Pease Jr. and his wife, Janice, of Port Clyde; a brother, Vance Bunker and his wife, Sari, of Owls Head; eight grandchildren, Thomas, Andrew, Sarah, Matthew, Melanie, Dixie, Ronda and Kathy; nine great-grandchildren, Effie, Hunter, Chase, Jack, Nathaniel, Briana, Brett, Jeremy and Hayden; a great-great-granddaughter, IslaBay; several special friends who helped care for Ethel, including Nancy Hamilton, Pat Durkee, Anita and Bob Siegenthaler, and Reggie Montgomery, all of Port Clyde; as well as many cousins.

A graveside celebration of her life will be held Thursday, May 5 at 3 p.m. at the South Parish (Ridge) Cemetery in Martinsville.
