Public supper

Do you remember what you are doing Saturday, April 30 at 5 p.m.? That’s right, you are going to the new fire station at Hope Corner to attend the public supper. Later in the evening at 6:15 p.m. desserts will be auctioned off. The menu will be pasta bar with and without meat sauce, Alfredo sauce with or without chicken, salad, garlic bread and pies for dessert. Price is $7 per adult and $3 for children 12 and under. Proceeds will be for the Utility No. 3 Forest Fire Attack Unit Project. For more information, call Nancy at 763-4118.

Taxes are due

A friendly reminder from the town of Hope. Don’t forget. All real estate and personal property taxes are due by May 3. Please feel free to call 763-4199 if you have any questions or would like to know the current amount due.

They are now open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 2 to 8 p.m. hopemaine.org. You can now pay your property taxes online. go to hopemaine.org for details.

Lights gone

The lights that were in Hope Corner to remind everyone that they were for stop signs. These lights have been removed. Please be sure to stop when you get in front of Hope General Store and also coming the other way on Route 105 coming down from North Hope. Of course you still stop coming from Church Street and Hatchet Mountain Road.

School senior lunch

Next Thursday, May 5 will be the senior lunch at the Hope School. Be sure and call the school by 3 p.m. on Wednesday to say if you are coming. The menu will be a surprise.

Planning Board

The Hope Planning Board meeting will be held Tuesday, May 3 at 7 p.m. at the Hope town hall.

William Pearse would like to thank each and everyone of you for all the many birthday cards he received to celebrate his 91st birthday. Also thanks to the Ladies Club for the plant and thanks to the Hope Volunteer Fire Department for the wonderful huge basket of fruit.

Ladies Club

The Midcoast Ladies Clubs next meeting will be Tuesday, May 10 and will be held at the Hope Corner Fire Station. The day will start off with a speaker educating everyone on how to plant a garden. The day starts at 10 a.m. There will be a silent auction. Lunch will be $5 and will be provided. Questions call 236-8691 or 763-3751. More details next week.
