Busline League baseball and softball was in full swing Wednesday as squads from Knox and Waldo counties squared off on the field.

In softball, Thomaston Grammar School and Camden-Rockport Middle School saw strong wins against Lincolnville Central School and Searsport District Middle School, while in baseball, Camden-Rockport beat SDMS.

Coaches are encouraged to report middle school game results, including final score, top batters (hits, runs, RBIs) and pitchers for both teams by emailing sports@villagesoup.com.


At Thomaston, the Clippers added another lopsided win to their record with a 38-2 victory over Lincolnville. For the Clippers, Paige Tyler pitched a no-hitter, with 14 strikeouts and six walks.

For Thomaston, Bailee Cox (3 hits, including a home run, 4 runs, 7 RBIs), Kasey Boutot (4 hits, including 2 doubles and triple, 5 runs), Makenna brooks (2 hits, 5 runs, 3 RBIs), Tyler (3 hits, 2 RBIs), Rachel Robinson (3 runs), Kalyn Grover (2 hits, 2 RBIs), Lexi Davis (2 hits, RBI) Cristin Rasmussen (hit, run, RBI), Macy Boutot (4 hits, 5 runs, 3 RBIs, triple),  Sam Benner (2 hits, 4 runs, RBI) and Jamie Brown (hit, 3 runs) led the charge.

For Lincolnville, Grace Underhill and Anna Christie scored and Brooke Benson pitched.

Camden-Rockport looked like a completely different team in its second outing of the season, according to coach James Christie. The team defeated Searspot 22-2.

Macy Buck threw all five innings for the Schooners, as she allowed one hit and recorded eight strikeouts.

For the Schooners, Alie MacDonald had a double and Buck, Maddie Karod and Ebby Lemar each singled for the Schooners.  The coach said Lemar and Karod also were strong in the field making several excellent defensive plays each.


At Searsport, Camden-Rockport beat the host Vikings 11-1. Daulton Wickenden turned in a 15-strikeout pitching effort and also had two hits, two runs and stole three bases for the Schooners.

Schooner coach James Anderson also complimented Adam Throne on his defense, which helped hold the Viking to one run.

On offense, Ryan Pierce had a hit, three steals, two walks and three runs. Also Drew Long added two hits and a run.
