The officers and board of directors of Area Interfaith Outreach Food Pantry invites everyone to join them for the ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new building addition.

The ceremony will be held Sunday, Jan. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. at 70 Thomaston St Rockland. Savory and sweet refreshments will be served.

In the past two years of economic stress the needs that the AIO food pantry fills for Knox County has grown tremendously. Because of this growth an addition was needed to meet the demand.

The board needs to thank many people who have helped AIO complete the project. JH Mathieson Surveying donated all his services. The architect for the building was John Hanson, with a partial donation for his services. The addition was built by Catalano Construction of Thomaston who donated some services and work time. The plumbing was done by John Gallagher of Rockland who donated some of his services, and Jeffrey Creighton of Thomaston donating some of his services for the electrical work.

The pantry director Judy Terrio, her husband Frank and her family have spent many hours completing the interior.

The pantry has an ongoing need for funds to complete the addition. Contributions from both individuals and corporations are always welcome. They can be sent to PO Box 113, Rockland.
