Bank of America’s Museums on Us program, which offers Bank of America/Merrill Lynch cardholders free access to some of the nation’s finest cultural, recreational and educational institutions on the first full weekend of every month, continues in 2011.

As part of Museums on Us, now in its 14th season, more than 140 leading cultural institutions in the United States including museums, historical sites, science centers and zoos open their doors for free to bank cardholders on the first full weekend of each month. In Maine, customers can enjoy free access to the downtown Farnsworth Art Museum, which will be closed Saturday, Jan. 1 but open on Sunday, Jan. 2.

Customers may present their Bank of America/Merrill Lynch credit or debit cards and a valid photo ID to gain free general admission to any participating institution. For more information and a complete list of participating sites, visit museums.bankofamerica.com/.
