An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Maine State Police responded to the following calls from Dec. 15 through Dec. 18 in the Midcoast.

Dec. 15

Trooper Scott Quintero stopped a vehicle on Route 73 in South Thomaston for an expired inspection. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Heidi Small, 34, of South Thomaston. Further investigation revealed that Small was the subject of an arrest warrant. Small was arrested and transported to Knox County Jail.

Dec. 16

Trooper Quintero stopped a vehicle on Buttermilk Lane in South Thomaston for a traffic violation. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Kristina Winchenbach, 31, of Damariscotta. Upon further investigation Winchenbach was determined to be the subject of two arrest warrants. Winchenbach was arrested and transported to Knox County Jail.

Dec. 17

Trooper Jeremiah Wesbrock responded to a fraud complaint on Finntown Road in Warren. The complainant reported someone has obtained several credit accounts in her name. Trooper Wesbrock is continuing the investigation.

Dec. 18

Trooper Wesbrock responded to a welfare check on Common Road in Union. Ronald Valentine, 62, was found deceased in his office. There were no signs of suspicious activity and it appears Valentine died of natural causes.
