True to its name, Christmas is a special time at Nativity Lutheran Church. On Sunday, Dec. 19, “The Making of a Christmas Play,” written by the youth of the church and directed by Hans Akselsen and Kim Murphy, will take place at the 10:30 a.m.

On Christmas Eve at 6:15 p.m. local artists will offer familiar Christmas selections. Among those participating will be Kim Murphy and Tom Gray singing: “Make My Life a Bethlehem.” Director of Music, Magaret Stanley-Small and Renee LiaBraaten will offer an organ-piano duet: “The First Noel.” Liv LiaBraaten, violinist, will play several selections. The choir will sing: “Calypso Noel.” The traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Jerry LiaBraaten and the Rev. Renee LiaBraaten leading the service.

The Dec. 26 worship will be a “Service of Lessons and Carols.” It begins at 10:30 a.m. The church is located at 179 Old County Rd., Rockport. All persons are welcome to participate in the worship and life of Nativity.
