A recording of Atlantic Ballet Company’s lavish “Nutcracker” ballet, presented earlier this month at the Camden Opera House, will be screened over the holiday weekend on BCTV-2, the city’s local cable channel.

The “Nutcracker” will be broadcast Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Dec. 24 and 25, at 8 p.m.

ABC’s “Nutcracker” features a colorful array of sets and costumes with a lively cast of both professionals and students in training at its school, P2PDance Center, also known as People to People Dance Center. Enton Hoxha, an Albanian dancer trained at the Russian School of Ballet, returns for his sixth year as the stalwart Nutcracker Cavalier. He also will dance in the famous Russian duet, “Trepak,” and will appear in the first act party scene as Mr. Von Staulbaum.

In this year’s production, professional dancer Heather Cox-Griffin alternates the roles of Sugar Plum Fairy, Dew Drop Fairy and Spanish soloist with Desiree Lobato of Belfast, an Atlantic Ballet Company’s student who currently teaches with P2PDance Center and will enter the Joffrey Ballet training program in New York City in January.

Thia Carter of Camden, a level III student of P2PDance Center, performs the role of the young and playful Clara; and Claire Boucher appears for the first time as the elegant Snow Queen, as well as the Victorian Doll and as Hoxha’s partner in the Russian duet.

On Friday, Dec. 31 Belfast Community Television will be broadcasting live from the Belfast New Year’s by The Bay celebration in downtown Belfast.
