Maine Media Women held their annual holiday event at the office of Maine Authors Publishing. Maine Authors Publishing moved into their new location at 558 Main St. in Rockland and according to Jane Karker, “hosting the Maine Media Women event at our offices was a great way of showing off our new offices while networking with a professional group of media women.”

In addition to the celebration MMW wanted to give back to the community. Many food pantries are being asked for pet food as this is a commodity that is hard for people to buy when they can’t afford to feed their families. Donations of cat food and dog food were donated to Area Interfaith Outreach Food Pantry, Rockland; Methodist Church Parsonage Food Pantry, Waldoboro; and New Harbor Food Pantry, Methodist Church, New Harbor.

Maine Media Women regularly meet to exchange ideas and information, and to offer mutual support and professional recognition. Originally founded in 1951 as Maine Press, Radio and Television Women, MMW represents the full spectrum of communications careers, including writers, graphic designers, artists, editors, publishers, photographers, videographers, advertising and marketing professionals, public relations practitioners, communications educators, and specialists in broadcast, print and electronic media. Guests are welcome at any of the meetings. For more information, visit www.mainemediawomen.org.
