Employees of The First recently donated a check in the amount of $643.33 to Seton School of Camden as part of the bank’s Casual for a Cause program. First employees in all 14 branch locations collected the funds in exchange for the privilege of dressing casually each Friday in September.

First representatives Teresa Blachet and Joyce Hilt recently presented the donation to the Executive Director of Seton School, David Heath.

“Thank you to the employees of The First for making this generous donation possible,” said Heath, in a press release. “As a small school serving children K-8 with special needs, every dime helps. In this case, the money will be used to make repairs to our playground equipment and purchase new textbooks and other educational materials for the students.”

Seton School was designed to provide sensory integration in a warm, quiet, and nurturing environment. Their highly individualized program is centered on a small student to teacher ratio, direct instruction, highly trained staff, and strong clinical and therapeutic support. By identifying the student’s strengths and building on those strengths in the appropriate environment while utilizing specific tools and strategies, students can succeed at home, school, and the community. Seton School is a Maine Approved Special Purpose Private School which allows students to be publically placed by their school district if determined appropriate.
