In addition to a community-oriented service on Christmas Eve, the United Christian Church of Lincolnville will be offering Blue Christmas and Christmas Morning services this year.

The Blue Christmas Service on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. is especially for those who may be feeling sad at this time of merriment, whether they’ve lost a loved one recently or during past holiday seasons and for those who often feel sad at this time of year. Others may just be looking for a little more quiet and less commercialism in the holidays. All are welcome for some quiet, gentle songs, readings and community.

The Candlelight Christmas Eve Service on Friday, Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. is a time of song, prayer, scripture readings and thanksgiving by candlelight for this sacred time. Community members are welcome to sing with the Wing and a Prayer Choir or play with the Joyful Noise Ensemble for this service. Please contact Music Director Mary Schulien at 785-3521 as soon as possible for details. All are welcome.

The church is offering a new worship service this year: a Christmas Morning Service, Saturday, Dec. 25 at 10 a.m. All are welcome to come together to sing carols, hear scripture, and share in Christmas reflections. Everyone is invited to gather for coffee and muffins after the service, though some may choose to scoot out the door if they have family obligations.

A Sunday service will be held as usual at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 26. Announcements begin at 9:25 a.m.
