Aldersgate United Methodist Church has raised $779 for the Area Interfaith Outreach food pantry.

The money was raised at a bell choir concert organized by Michael Leonard, director of the Aldersgate bell choir and through an effort of 40 days of prayer by Aldersgate members. During the 40 days each family placed an empty bowl on their kitchen table to remind them of those whose bowls where empty due to lack of food. Each family contributed a little for each of the 40 days and the final total was matched by a gift from a church member toward the AIO building fund.

Aldersgate United Methodist Church and 10 other faith communities support the Area Interfaith Outreach and their all volunteer workforce in their efforts to alleviate hunger in Knox County.
