St. Cecilia Chamber Choir will present its annual Ceremony of Lessons and Carols concert Friday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Second Congregational Church, Business Route 1. The concert will be reprised Saturday, Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. at Brunswick’s Bowdoin College Chapel.

The St. Cecilia Chamber Choir, the Midcoast’s only auditioned choral group, is celebrating its 15th anniversary; Linda Blanchard has directed this ensemble of about 30 to 35 carefully selected and balanced voices since 1995. The group’s accompanist-organist is Sean Fleming.

To date, 18 gifted young people have regularly sung with the choir as student musicians. This season, they include Olivia Vanner who attends Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro. Other members of the group range from their 20s through 80s.

The program includes a processional, numerous anthems and Christmas carols (including sing-alongs), holiday readings and poems plus an a cappella singing of “Silent Night” by candlelight. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door; children and students are admitted free. Advance tickets are available at Maine Coast Book Shop and Café in Damariscotta and at Gulf of Maine Books in Brunswick.
