On Saturday morning, Dec. 11 local artist and former teacher Marianne Swittlinger will offer an art workshop for children at Coastal Children’s Museum at Sharp’s Point South, 75 Mechanic St.

From 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., Swittlinger will demonstrate a variety of crafts and, from 11:15 a.m. to noon, she will lead an open art session where visitors can let their creativity really fly.

Swittlinger has led a number of workshops at the Coastal Children’s Museum including a recycled art series and an underwater scenes workshop, as well as helped paint the beautiful murals found in the museum’s Under the Sea room. She most recently ran the mask-making table at CCM’s Fall Family Day in October.

The cost of the workshop is free for museum members and is included in the price of admission for non-members; admission is $5 per person, $18 for a family of four. For more information, call at 385-1105 or send e-mail at ccm2009@midcoast.com.
