The Waldoboro Public Library’s Artist of the Month for September is
Mary Lavendier Myers. She will be displaying a large, boldly colorful,
figure painting, plus some smaller examples from her “Baseball Genre”,
which is perfect seasonal timing.

Mary studied at Corcoran School in Washington, D.C. on a post-graduate
level. She has been painting full-time since 1987 and also teaches art,
including one-on-one workshops. She regularly shows her work at Gallery
Music in Portland.

The artist likes to work in oil, acryllic and collage. You can see some
of her work on her website: She states that her
baseball figure paintings may stand for or mean whatever a viewer may
conclude. They are meant to be enjoyed rather than analyzed.

Ms. Myers’ works can be viewed at the Library during open hours: Monday 9:30-8:00pm; Tuesday closed; Wednesday through Friday 9:30-4:30; and Saturday 9:30 to 12 noon.
