Sounds of the Season, a program of holiday music, will be presented by Bay Winds North Wind Ensemble and Breakers Jazz Sunday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Route 17.

Bay Winds North Wind Ensemble will open the program with Leroy Anderson’s “Christmas Festival” followed by works from Holst and Rutter, as well as “All is Calm” featuring French horn soloist Emily Widdoes. Two unusual musical numbers, “Parade of the Icicles” and a Sousa march arrangement of “Jingle Bells,” will conclude the first part of the program.

Lively holiday favorites performed by Breakers Jazz, including the popular “Santa Baby,” “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” and a rousing rendition of “Hot Chocolate” from the “Polar Express,” will be featured in the second half of the concert. The finale will combine the wind ensemble and jazz group for Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride.”

Both groups are under the direction of Marlene Hall. Admission is free, although donations are welcomed. Refreshments will be served.
