The third annual Jingle Bells Rockport event will run from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 in the village and beyond. Some 18 merchants are taking part, including several art galleries, and Bay Chamber Community Music School will hold an open house.

The Bay Chamber Community Music School’s new facilities are located at 18 Central St. in the historic Shepherd Block, on the top floor.  Free special events will include a 6 p.m. Music Together demonstration class and a 7 p.m. classical guitar demonstration.

Designed for families with children up to age 5, the Music Together experience includes songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, instrument play and more. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance oriented musical experiences, developmentally appropriate and easy for parents and caregivers, regardless of their own musical abilities.

At 7 p.m., Jeff Rojo, Bay Chamber’s classical guitar teacher, will give a performance and demonstration. Rojo is a graduate of the Escuela Superior de Musica in Mexico City. He continued his studies at Centro de Investigacion y Estudios de la Musica, where he completed a graduate degree in guitar music performance, music theory and music composition.

Other participants in Jingle Bell Rockport include Michael Good Gallery, Prism Gallery and Restaurant, Maine Media Gallery and the new Ralston Gallery. The event’s venues will provide a wide variety of complimentary drinks, snacks and specials; pick up a card at any of the participating businesses and visit a minimum of eight locations to be eligible for raffle baskets. All Aboard Trolley will provide transportation throughout the evening.
