It won’t be found in any catalog or store. It can’t be monogrammed or gift-wrapped. It’s the legacy you’ll bequeath to the people you love. And according to Lee Ann Szelog, scheduled to speak at Quarry Hill on Friday, Dec. 10 (snow date: Dec. 15), from 10:30 a.m. to noon, it’s more precious than anything under a tree.

In “The Gift of You: Discovering Your Legacy,” the next event in Quarry Hill’s Adventures in Living Well series for adults age 55-plus, Szelog will explain how the concept of legacy has become associated with money and power. But the most important legacies, she argues, reflect those intangible, more enduring gifts we carry within. These, she says, are our true treasures, and each of us can learn to identify, celebrate, and pass them on.

Szelog is an award-winning author, motivational speaker, and trainer whose enterprise, Simply Put, LLC, is committed to helping people live more purposeful lives. She and her husband, noted author and photographer Tom Szelog, live in Whitefield.

“The Gift of You” will conclude the fall Adventures in Living Well series. Another series of six programs on varied topics will begin in February 2011.

Adventures in Living Well events are designed especially for adults age 55-plus. Programs are free of charge, but registration is required. Call Quarry Hill at 230-6114 to reserve seats.
