As part of Christmas by the Sea, Ragged Mountain Ski & Snowboard Club will host a screening of both amateur and big-time outdoor sports films. The club’s fifth annual Ragged Mountain Ski & Snowboard Club Movie and Film Contest event will take place Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Bayview Street Cinema starting at 3 p.m. Admission will be $5 at the door.

Locally-made amateur films selected by juror Chris Walker Spencer will be screened prior to the feature film, “Revolver” by Poor Boyz Productions. The top amateur filmmaker will win a cash prize of $50.

“Revolver,” released this year, focuses on the progression and the factors that have coincided with many great advancements of skiing. Over the last decade skiing has exploded into what it is today, but it has had many trying moments long before the end of the 20th century. The film showcases today‚Äôs raw talents of free skiing in a high-action retrospective, yet progressive look at what things are pushing the sport.
