Bay Chamber Concerts will present internationally renowned fiddler and Cape Breton native Natalie MacMaster, one of the most versatile and exciting young musicians on both the folk and Celtic music scenes, Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Strom Auditorium of Camden Hills Regional High School, Route 90.

MacMaster has toured with the Chieftains, Faith Hill, Carlos Santana and Alison Krauss; and has recorded with Yo-Yo Ma. Her live performances are a testament to her incandescent musicianship and boundless energy and feature foot-tapping rave-ups, heart-rending ballads and world-class step dancing. MacMaster’s fiddling fireworks focus on traditional and contemporary Celtic melodies and are enjoyed by audiences of all ages.

Christmas in Cape Breton, MacMaster’s holiday concert, will be a joyful celebration featuring traditional Celtic music as well as Christmas favorites. As a special gift to the audience, MacMaster will be joined by Bay Chamber’s Youth Choir, an ensemble of 20 students from Camden Hills Regional High School, the Watershed School and Islesboro Central School. Among the choir participants are members of Camden Hills’ Gleesando, which recently won FOX23’s Glee for All competition.  The Bay Chamber Youth Choir will join MacMaster and her band for stirring renditions of Christmas carols and more.

Most tickets to this holiday concert are $30, $8 for those younger than 19; adult prime seating tickets are $50. For tickets, call 236-2823 or 888-707-2770; send e-mail to info@baychamberconcerts.org; or visit baychamberconcerts.org.
